The Eudora Citizens Academy is a five-week program open to Eudora residents ages 14 and up. Participants in the Academy will learn about and experience how the City operates and provides services, including:
- 10/12 – Police Department : Join the Eudora Police Department and check out our equipment and facilities! Talk to our officers and receive education about trainings provided to our police force.
- 10/19 – Public Works: Come learn about the many operations of Eudora’s Public Works Department. Acquire knowledge about the City of Eudora’s infrastructure including the maintenance of roads, our water treatment facility, and wastewater facilities.
- 10/26 – Administration : Enrich your knowledge of Eudora’s Commission-Manager form of Government! Learn about the various roles of City Clerk, Human Resources, IT, Building and Codes, Budget and Finance, and what these roles achieve. Engage in a fun and informative budgeting exercise!
- 11/2 – Parks & Rec : Learn about the operations, several programs, and facilities within our Parks and Rec Department! See what it takes to keep Eudora’s activities all fun and games, and learn about our initiatives to promote healthy and active citizens.
- 11/9 – Fire Department : Put yourself to the test by physically running through firefighter drills and activities with Eudora’s Fire Department! Learn about codes and fire investigations that keeps the City of Eudora safe!
Sessions will be held every Thursday from 6:00pm - 7:30pm, from October 12 through November 9, for a total of five sessions. Participants may arrive at 5:45pm to receive a complimentary dinner.
Please fill out the short application below if you are interested in participating in the Eudora Citizens Academy. Applications for the Fall Class of 2023 are open from August 30 to October 5. Class size is limited to 15 participants. The Eudora Citizens Academy Fall Class of 2023 will graduate at the City Commission Meeting on November 13, 2023. In order to graduate, participants must attend at least four out of the five sessions.

Applicants ages 14-17 must submit a short letter of recommendation from a teacher with their application.
