Fire Prevention

The Fire Prevention Division is supervised by the Assistant Fire Chief, who serves as the City of Eudora’s Fire Inspector. The Fire Inspector is responsible for a broad range of services and activities including fire inspections, fire investigations and education.

Fire Prevention activities are carried out by all members of the City of Eudora Fire Department. This includes plan review for all new development and construction projects, pre-fire planning, and permitting and routine fire inspection of occupancies and home daycare's.

Numerous members of the department are certified in both inspections and investigations. Investigators are responsible for determining the cause of origin of fires that have occurred in the City of Eudora. Inspectors administer and enforce the International Fire Code within the city. The staff works closely with the city's Buildings & Codes Department to ensure compliance.
