Wood chips will be allowed from tree grinding only. Due to KDHE burning and monitoring regulations, tree stumps over 18” in diameter will not be allowed. All other stumps should be ground down or cut to a size of 18” or smaller.

Grass and leaves will not be allowed. All residents are able to dispose of leaves, grass, and brush through our local waste management contractor - Honey Creek - as part of regular, weekly pickup. Please visit their website for more information. Click on the City Guidelines link to see full details of the program. Honey Creek limits yard waste to the following limits:

The brush dump may be opened outside of the above-mentioned dates pending major storm events. Public notice will be sent out via social media, this website, and/or utility inserts.

Between brush dump open dates, staff will notify the local fire department, KDHE, and BNSF (the railroad) when staff intends to open burn the deposited material. These dates will depend on the weather and KDHE requirements The trees and brush will be separated into small piles that can be completely burned and disposed of.
